Students at an elementary school in Portland, Oregon thought that a worksheet from worksheets activities everywhere should be different. When it became apparent that they would have to do the same worksheets every day, they began to change them, and started with a worksheet from their activities. They worked hard at it and created a huge difference in their results.
There were several reasons for wanting to change their worksheets, but they decided to take a page from their friend’s book, and use Perky Rhymes. Their first changes were in worksheets activities everywhere in their homes. It was noted that the math workbook had a cartoon word perky rhymes cover that had no idea about it or didn’t care. They tried several variations and finally realized that they could go to the supermarket, and bring out a dozen perky rhymes stickers to place on their doors.
One of the things they noticed about Perky Rhymes was that they also offered multiplication. The cover page showed a picture of Perky Rhymes, with the letter M in the middle. On each of the three sides, the kids saw four numbers, and two letters. When they wrote in the digits, the letters spelled out M.
After a while, the kids began to write all the letters out, and the numbers out as well. When they started doing that, the kids found that there were fewer words on the page, and the numbers were bigger. This made it more like multiplication, which is what they were looking for.
Later, the kids saw Perky Rhymes in a math library at school. They wanted to buy a worksheet like this, and they couldn’t find one, so they created their own. The cover page showed a photo of Perky Rhymes, and a picture of the actual cover of the book. It included multiplication, addition, subtraction, division, and even fractions.
Then, some time later, they bought a worksheet from Perky Rhymes for a school project about multiplication. The cover image showed a picture of a quadratic equation, with the letters “L F”. The students drew in their numbers and got the equation, and then flipped it over. They began to work on the quadratic equation with pencil and paper, and the next day, it came out right.
The kids then decided to take their next step, and took the lessons they learned about multiplication and addition and subtraction, and turned them into a fun and creative activity. They created a book of 5 word fillers. They started with the multiplication problems and worked backwards.
They began to write the numbers on their worksheets, and did a quiz on the answers, to find out if they understood the concept of multiplication. Each child had a list of five words to fill, and a quiz about the answers. After they finished the quiz, they were able to read the multiplication problems again, and the worksheets were finished. They then used their workbook and were able to do further multiplication problems on their own, and create word fillers that were never seen in any other ways.
