We've got to end this war before it lasts forever! — Henry Darger, from Realms of the Unreal

blog action day: poverty

I was not going to post today, but I feel as if I should. I mean, what can I say about poverty when I am sitting here in the middle of a lifestyle that is as supportive of poverty as any? As long as I have more than I need, am I not contributing to others not having enough? I can answer that in two words: I am.

So don’t listen to me go on. Instead, go read this piece from Rethabile: Poverty Pauvrete Bofutsana.

Then go read this piece from Deb: American Sentence for Poverty.

Then go read this piece from Jo: Blog Action Day 2008 Poverty.

Then go here: blogactionday.org.

Oh, and if you want, why don’t you write an American Sentence about poverty and leave it as a comment here and/or post it on your blog? After all, the United States is a place that promotes and encourages poverty around the world. Hence, the American Sentence seems to be a perfect form for talking about this issue.

  1. Rethabile says:

Poverty is bad, as in blog action day. Cheers for this.
